ARD Meeting

Admission Response Dismissal (ARD) We are in the Admission phase. It was a good meeting. Tristan will be starting speech therapy next week. We also asked to initiate the evaluations for occupational and physical therapy. Tristan's teacher also wants the evals done. Apparently this week the Physical Therapist was in the gym during PE (with another student) and told Tristan's teacher that she thought that she should be seeing him. So I think this will be a good thing for him. So, once the additional evals are done we will have another ARD meeting to decide what other therapies may be needed, etc. We probably won't have that next meeting until middle to end of April.

Tristan's Teacher Conference

Well, I should probably have Jason write this since he went to the conference. I planned to go but woke up feeling very, very yucky so Jason went on his own. Anyway, the conference was only about 20 minutes long (the last 3 we've had were an hour or so). This was the first conference with his new teacher though. Jason said it was all very positive. The teacher is happy with his progress since he has been in her class. (I need to scan some of his homework to show how well he is doing). She said that some of it seems to just be that Tristan needs to "want" to do his schoolwork, if he doesn't want to...he just doesn't do it. she also said that Friday's seem to be his worst day--don't know if he is just tired on Fridays or knows that the weekend is coming. She said that she was pleasantly surprised today (okay yesterday--it's after midnight) when she brought out word flashcards and he read/knew all the words. YAY TRISTAN!!!!! So overall, great conference!!! We really like this teacher. Hopefully she can be Rehanyn's teacher next year. Speech therapy for T is supposed to start next week apparently. We have the ARD (no, I can't remember what that stands for right now!) meeting on Friday so I'll update about that then.

Update

Let's see--can I remember the last week???

Sunday--worked all night

Monday--2 kids in school, Ree at home, slept a little, got upset about the hospital deciding to move the NICU reunion back (for a stupid reason)

Tuesday--Did lots of laundry--2 kids in school, Ree bored at home, Tristan came home and did great on his homework (only has hw on tues/thurs) and then did extra work just 'cause he wanted to. :-). Taught discharge class at work.

Wednesday--had lunch with a friend, took Ree (to Red Robin of course), picked up Adreyn from school, Tristan had tutoring then came home, then on to work

Thursday--slept, Ree went to work with daddy, back to work. Happy Birthday DAD

Friday--found out that I didn't get the job I applied for (*lovely* generic email to let me know) Jason got more upset than I did, calmed Jason down, slept, laundry, refused to cook dinner--had dickey's bbq instead :-) slept some more

Saturday--more laundry, jason not feeling good, jason worked for awhile, to mom and dads for dinner with Tasha/Phil, Mom/Dad, Us and lots of kids.

Sunday--Jason's birthday, lazy day at home, kids sang "happy birthday" to their daddy, over and over, and over. Jason still didn't feel good. Had turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy for dinner (yeah--my house smelled yummy) Played with a new Playdough Ice cream parlour set tonight. The kids loved it--of course the playdough colors are already all mixed but I guess that is the joy of playdough right? OH, we got a thick envelope from the speech teacher at school about the evals that have been done for Tristan's speech. Long story short--he's been "diagnosed" with an articulation disorder and qualifies for speech therapy 2x/week. The good news is that other than the articulation part he tested well in everything else. Yay!!!

I'll have to take some more pics and post them this week.

This week is busy too--Jason is swamped with work--here's our week--jason will be working every day I'm sure

Monday--I have a meeting before work (I think I'm gonna cancel it though) then work all night

Tuesday--have a meeting at 7:30 am then work all night

Wednesday--need to sleep a bit then have a parent/teacher conference for Tristan at 3:30pm. Then have NICU Support Group in the evening

Thursday--I'm sure I'll have lots of laundry to do and will need to catch up on some sleep. Adreyn has science club after school

Friday--we have a meeting regarding the results of the evals that have been done about his speech--we will see what happens with that. Like I said above--the plan so far is to have speech therapy 2x/week. This meeting is with his teacher, the speech teacher, the diagnostician, and the vice principal I believe so--we'll see.

Oh then I work Friday, Sat, Sun--so maybe I won't post much this week--we'll see. I need to get back to my posting every day. I've gotten too involved on facebook so have been spending my time there instead of here :-)

Hope everyone has a good week!

Soooo

Kids in school--even thought it's a federal holiday. Jason's car is back in the shop--AGAIN!!! Apparently last time it was in they broke a couple of things and didn't feel like telling us and "jerry-rigged" it. I got to stay home from work Friday so was actually awake on Valentine's Day :-) Jason's brother Jerry was in Oklahoma checking on a construction job so he drove down to visit on Saturday. We got to go out to lunch and then Jason, the kids, and Jerry went to Jason's parents house for the evening while I went to work. I came home Sunday morning and decorated a Elmo cake for a little boy, then went to bed and back to work that night :-). I'm still waiting for news on the job I interviewed for--hopefully I will hear something this week. We will stay busy this week but I have this weekend off--plus Jason's birthday is this week, so that is good. Nothing else exciting happening :-)

New Pics--Family and kids

Monday, February 2

hmmmm....

Well, not alot going on here...kids in school, rehanyn at home, jason working, me working. And, there may be some news on the horizon (no, no more kids) but I don't wanna talk about it on here just yet as I won't know anything definite until early next week. Those of you who know what I'm talking about--keep thinking of me and send good thoughts my way...those who don't--well, you'll have to wait until next week. HA, neiner, neiner, neiner :-)

Confused yet? Me too :-)

BTW, congrats Tamra on making baby #4! I still think you are crazy though!
