Tristan's first day with new teacher

Well, yesterday was Tristan's first day with his new teacher. He got a sticker on his behavior chart so that was good. He had a couple papers sent home that he completed in school and they had *gasp* POSITIVE comments on them. He had written numbers by himself (teacher said he needed coaxing but did do it) and you could actually read them, and he did another page where you read the days of the week and then write the days of the week and he did it all by himself and although it was messy you could actually read what he wrote!!! Hopefully this keeps up but we are very encouraged that this new teacher is the best thing for him!

Also, yesterday Tristan came out and was talking about Aerodactyl (a pokemon) and was very easily understood (and pronounced it perfectly!). He is doing so much better with his speech--it seems like his problem sounds are the "l" and "r" since he pronounces both as "w" (i.e. "wion" and "wabbit")

Yesterday

So, get a call yesterday that Jason's car is finished (we took it in before Christmas, they kept it for 14 days, we got it back and then took it back in last week). So, we get the kids up from their naps, load them in the car (the same one we had just unloaded groceries from) and drive across town to pick up his car. Jason goes in--pays the deductible and drives the car out of the "bay". Drives it over to where I'm parked and looks under the hood. Finds an extra piece of something in the engine and then drives it right back in. I guess while he is in there this time he gets down on the floor and looks under the car and notices that they didn't fix the very thing we took it in for in the first place back in December. So, our car remains in the shop! Very frustrating.

Update

Went to the meeting with the Principal on Wednesday. Long story short---Tristan will have a new teacher in 2 weeks!!!! The classroom that the principal decided to move him to is the teacher that both Jason and I had hoped we would get (we didn't get to pick) so that makes us happy. So we got what we wanted. Also, at the meeting we asked about how things were moving to set up speech therapy and occupational therapy. The principal said she would look into it and Jason is currently in a meeting with the school Diagnostician about Tristan's "plan"--we will see what he has to say when he gets home.

That's pretty much it. :-) Hope you have a good weekend.

Back to school!

Yay!!! Christmas break is over and 2 of the kids are back in school!!! Now just to get Rehanyn in school in 8 months! Rehanyn was definitely missing the big kids today but we made it through. It just doesn't help when mommy is sleepy :-) She was asking for lunch at 9 am. You would think we never feed the child!

Tristan had a good day at school yesterday....got in trouble today for "not following directions"--whatever that means. His teacher has instituted a new "discipline" plan that she tried to explain to the parents in writing--it's as clear as mud to us though so not sure how well the kids will do with it. Yesterday something happened (we aren't sure if his lunch was left at home or what) but Tristan didn't eat lunch. If he forgot his lunch at home why weren't we called about it. And if he didn't eat his lunch I think I should have at least gotten a note about it. I'm so frustrated. We have a meeting with the principal tomorrow so hopefully will get this figured out.

At some point we need to take down the Christmas tree--maybe this weekend.

Adreyn has a birthday party to go to this weekend so she is excited about that!

That's about it for exciting information.
